5. Agriculture and Farmers’ Support

  • Tractors, harvesting machines, soil preparation equipment → reduced from 12% to 5%.
  • Biopesticides (12 items) → down from 12% to 5%.

GST reduced to 5% for renewable energy devices and parts:

Applies only to:

  • Pan masala, gutka, cigarettes, zarda, chewing tobacco.
  • Sugar-based and caffeinated beverages.
  • Mid-size & large cars, motorcycles > 350cc, personal-use aircraft and yachts.

This special rate ensures higher taxation only on harmful and ultra-luxury items.

  • New GST rates (except for tobacco & related products) will be effective from 22nd September 2025, the first day of Navaratri.
  • Tobacco products will continue at the existing 28% + compensation cess until all compensation cess obligations are discharged.
